Calming Sense creates weighted items with therapeutic value for children and adults with stress, ADHD, autism, anxiety, sensory integration disorders and sleep problems. Our mission is to create items that are attractive and that appear typical. The items give children and adults a tool to self –sooth, reduce stress, and promote focus.

This awesome lap pad features a see-through vinyl pocket with small items that your child can find! Your child can gently knead the lap pad and 15 different items will appear. Comfort Critters are approximately 2 lbs. of comforting weight that calm by laying across stress points on neck and shoulders. Our critters are filled with non-toxic poly pellets. The bottom is fleece or minky, allowing the critter to stay in place.  They are 34” long.

Weighted vests were originally made for children, but adults use them also! Adults like that the vests appear "typical" just as much as children do.

The goal was to help a child with a weighted vest that looked just like what other children were wearing. To achieve this goal, I weight a “store bought” children’s vest with a weighted lining.

The vests are all custom made for your child. I order a vest and “load it up” with 2, 3, or 4 pounds of weight. Vests have the weights loaded into lining fabric and stitched onto the vest and are visible from the inside but not the outside. The weights are permanently attached. Vests are a custom order and are not returnable or exchangeable.

Sometimes customers have the best ideas! Based on my very popular weighted fleece vests, I can now offer weighted fleece jackets. The jackets have all the same benefits for children with autism, sensory disorders, anxiety or ADHD, and a little more warmth.

The jackets have sewn in weighted linings. The jacket is washable - on gentle and hang to dry.

Our goal was to design a way for students to wear a weighted vest and appear to the casual observer, that they were not wearing anything special. We will weight a vest that we purchase (see Weighted Vests) or you can purchase a kit that has everything you need to weight your own existing lined vest or one that you find in the store.
